Blogs by Laetitia Plaisance on acidification in Papua New Guinea, by Trish Mace and by Maggy Hunter Benson on biodiversity in Curacao and Indonesia, and by me on coral spawning in Panama are some examples. Also on the portal are stories about Chris Meyer’s work in Moorea, where he and others are trying to get a genetic barcode for all marine (and terrestrial) life. Finally, there is quite a lot of research by many Smithsonian scientists and guest researchers at the Smithsonian labs in Fort Pierce (Florida), Carrie Bow Cay (Belize), and Bocas del Toro (Panama).
