Thanks for sharing your thoughts, and we’re sorry to hear that you won’t be able to use the Ocean Portal with your class. We try to offer a wide range of information on the ocean for a variety of audiences, including information about reproduction or “sex” in the marine world. In addition to teachers and their students, we strive to reach young adults and ocean enthusiasts (which are the main target audiences for the blog in particular), and we try to present materials in ways that will catch their attention. However, we do not want to offend anyone or prevent anyone from being able to use the site their classrooms. We will take your important perspective into account in naming future stories and blog posts.
