She is the former Editor-in-Chief of Nature Conservancy Magazine and has worked for organizations such as The Washington Post Express, the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, and the National Park Service. She holds a degree in English from Canisius College, studied television, radio, and film at the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, and has taught courses in writing and journalism.
