Jakobshavn Glacier
The Greenland glacier Jakobshavn Isbrae is massive, at around 40 miles long and more than a mile thick. It's famous among glaciers as the source of the iceberg that sunk the Titanic—but it's responsible for more icebergs than that. Jakobshavn Glacier produces around 10% of all Greenland icebergs; that's around 4 billion tons of ice entering the sea. In recent years, its flow into the sea has only increased. Find out how it beat the glacial speed record and see more beautiful photos.
