Vaquitas at the Water's Surface

Governments and environmental organizations continue to monitor the vaquita population, advocate for better law enforcement, remove abandoned fishing gear, develop vaquita-friendly fishing practices and provide incentives to stop using gillnets. Other efforts focus on decreasing the demand by educating consumers about the impact of buying illegal totoaba swim bladders.
