Tectonic Shift

The boundaries between plates, outlined above, are categorized based on the kind of motion that happens at each one. At convergent boundaries, two plates move toward each other and one slides beneath the other; at divergent boundaries, plates move away from one another; and at transform boundaries, plates slide past each other.
